Join us for a cherished La Porte tradition as we come together for our annual Juneteenth Celebration in partnership with the La Porte Community Civic Club! For years, our community has honored this significant day, marking the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrating the enduring spirit of freedom.

This Juneteenth, we invite everyone to be part of this vibrant expression of unity. It's a time to reflect on history, celebrate the present, and build an even stronger future, hand in hand. Connect with your community, celebrate together, and share the joy of Juneteenth.

Friday Night Block Party

Kick off the Juneteenth weekend with the La Porte Community Civic Club and their exciting Friday Night Block Party! The block party will feature a live DJ and free bbq sandwiches for the first 150 people. There will be a basketball blacktop tournament, and young ballers can showcase their skills in the inaugural Juneteenth Youth Hot Shot Competition. It's the perfect way to gather with the community, enjoy great food and music, and get ready for a weekend of Juneteenth festivities!

Grand Parade

Celebrate freedom and community spirit at the heart of our La Porte Juneteenth Celebration with our vibrant parade! This joyful procession will wind its way down Broadway, showcasing the rich heritage and cultural significance of Juneteenth. Come wave, cheer, and take part in this long held community tradition. You don't want to miss the energy and excitement of the Juneteenth parade – a true highlight of our celebration!

Entertainment

Immerse yourself in the sounds of Juneteenth at our vibrant entertainment lineup, all taking place at the Five Points Pavilion. From 4 PM to 5 PM, a DJ will set a lively atmosphere to get the afternoon moving. Then, prepare to be serenaded by the smooth sounds of saxophonist, Perry Richard, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. As the evening unfolds, get ready for a captivating performance by the talented Ki'ora Michelle from 7 PM to 9 PM. We encourage you to bring your own comfortable chairs or blankets to relax on the lawn and fully enjoy the incredible live music throughout the celebration!
Kid's Zone

Juneteenth is a fantastic time for kids and the Kid's Zone is bursting with free fun! Youngsters can unleash their inner artist with engaging crafts and contribute to a collaborative community paint project. Get ready for action with exciting games of gaga ball and the challenge of the rock wall. And to top it all off, prepare for an unforgettable 3-hour foam party from 5 PM to 8 PM – a bubbly extravaganza designed for pure kid-friendly joy!

Historic La Porte Colored School & Museum

Celebrate Juneteenth all month long at the Historic La Porte Colored School & Museum. This important piece of Black History in La Porte is open on the weekends, 11am-4pm!
