The festivities begin with a live opener, building up to our headlining performance by Curtis Poullard and the Creole Zydeco Band from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The stage is set up directly on the street to create plenty of room for fun, so bring a lawn chair to relax or grab a partner and enjoy the Zydeco rhythms on our open-air dance floor.

La Porte's Largest Line Dance
At 5:30 PM, the party hits the pavement for La Porte’s Largest Line Dance! We are calling on all attendees to flood Main Street and join us for a massive group dance session featuring all the classic hits you know and love. No registration is required—just jump into the line, follow the music, and help us create a spectacular moment of community fun right before the headlining band takes the stage.

King Cake Eating Contest
Take a break from dancing and get ready for a sugar-fueled battle at 7:00 PM! Our King Cake Eating Contest pits hungry competitors against one another in a race to finish their festive treats first. Expect flying frosting, cheering crowds, and a whole lot of fun as we find out who can handle the sweetness. It’s a classic Mardi Gras tradition with a competitive twist!
